You can uninstall Toolkit 5.  I would wait until you've verified that your data migrated successfully.

I ordered the disk, can I delete TK 5 from programs once TK6 is installed?

Thanks I haven't really been a big library saver since data downloads became automatic.

I may have missed this but are there any compatibility problems if I buy TK6 but most of my club still uses TK5?

Thanks

You shouldn't have any problems doing that!

Question on the TK6 manual. Page 163, section 4 it states "see the How to section for adding or deleting address in the pulldown menu"

Page 263 states see "what and why for more details about using Quarterly trend analysis"

Where exactly is the How to and the what and why?

are you referring to page 303, how to set up web destinations,  and page 264 using the PTR (Portfolio Trend Report)?

BTW nice manual I'm just wading through it now.

Thanks for the catch. We are planning another release of the manual before we send the printed version to press, so let us know any other discrepancies that you find!

Hi, guys.  Your issued model doesn't save the entered EPS.  It does save the
extra trend lines, but not the EPS.  And, I am still getting a crash if I
leave an EPS Estimate line blank without entering a zero.   Gene

Yes, I think so.

The web favorites are different now, since the program has some that are built in and are updated by the updater, while you can enter and edit and delete your own. I don't think the manual reflects the new functions.

In sec 2B if you were to abbreviate the Book Value as in 2C and abbreviate Prior Year that might get rid of the overlap, example

E/S / BK Val (Prior Yr). Not critical, Just a thought.

I am disappointed to discover that TK6 has the same annoying behavior that TK5 does - if you change printer to print an SSG, for example to print in color, that printer becomes the system default.  Most software returns the default to the original one when you exit.

Very annoying and something that was supposed to be fixed.

But the new stuff looks interesting and I need to take time to study it.

I have a question about the First Impression. When I click on "Show me Toolkit's Judgement" and compare it to the Take Stock judgement, the buy prices are different. Where do the judgements for the First Impression selection come from?

So far I'm really enjoying Toolkit 6!

Yes, they will be different, since they don't use the exact same methodology. Take Stock's should in most cases be a bit more conservative than Toolkit 6.

I'll write up some background on the First Impression judgment calculations when I get back from vacation next week.

We'll take a look at this. We didn't change too much of the way that TK5 works, but I can see how this might be annoying.

You might be interested in this tool, which I use and couldn't live without. It's called "Fine Print", and it's a print manager. Set it up to be your default printer, and then you can print all your jobs to Fine Print. Then, from Fine Print, you can preview the job and choose from any of the physical printers on your computer or to a PDF printer and print from there. This works for me nicely on my laptop, since I have several different printers that I use regularly depending on where I am. But the real advantages of the program are that it lets you print 2 pages (or 4 or 8) to a single sheet of paper (thus using less sheets) and you can see the whole print job before you print (so you don't end up with the 2-line footer of a web page showing up on the next sheet).

The trial version puts a small banner on each page, but is otherwise perfectly functional.

You can download it here: http://www.fineprint.com/
