More on my printer problems. I decided this morning to try another printer. I have a fairly new Canon iP2600 printer that I use with a laptop. I connected it to my main computer, designated it as my primary printer and then tried to print a report from TK6. Guess what? No change. Still no ability to print reports and as usual when I attempt to print TK6 closes down.
I may not have reported before that when I go to the file menu and click on "Printer Set Up" I get a dialogue box that says: Run time error 32757. The common dialog function was unable to lock the memory associated with a handle" Is there anyone out there that speaks computer-eze and can tell me if this error message sheds any light on my problem.

I had to buy a new desktop computer. HP only had 64 bit Vista Home Premium computers. I did not know that TK was not supported in 64 bit. I have tried all of the solutions offered on this site for printing (except printing to a PDF). Actually, doing the compatibility with XP worked for 12 hours. None of my other programs have any trouble printing. So I own a program that doesn't work. I am very sad as I liked it very much. Are there any hopes of an update to TK6 in the near future to solve the printing problem? Arnie

Good news for Vista 64 bit system PC's users. I have upgraded to Windows 7, following the instructions furnished in the upgrade material. It was an easy install and I am no longer receiving those awful printing errors when trying to print a SSG or reports in Toolkit 6. Hint --remember those who run more than one library in Toolkit 6, you have to backup each library separate. Also because some may have installed Toolkit 6 directly under your “C” drive, check to see where your Toolkit backup files are located making sure you select them in your backup. You don’t need to uninstall Toolkit before upgrading.

Marie,
I installed Windows 7 and my printing problem went away; however a new problem cropped up. See my posting in this forum labeled "Windows 7". Are you seeing this same error [ghosting of heading buttons] and if so have you found a solution?

It appears there are no plans to correct the printing problem. I have a recollection that there is a way to do a screen capture. Does anyone know how to do this? If you capture the screen maybe it could be printed out. Arnie

Screen Print (nearly every version of Windows will support these steps):
Step 1). Hold the Alt and Prnt Scrn button at same time.
Step 2). Open Paint.exe
Step 3). Select Paste menu option.
Step 4). Select Print menu option.
Optional Step 5). Save picture

The answer by Neil got my screen captured (Alt-PrtScr) and I can print the graph in TK6 from Paint. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to do a little research on cutting down the size of the screen capture (Prints on 6 pages). Arnie

Paint.exe has a [resize/skew] menu option under the [image] menu list.
Use equal values of under 100 (say 50 for cutting picture in half) to resize the captured image. Can repeat that process till the item suits your size goal. Size of original is based on screen resultion setting as defined in control panel.
Best of luck

I do not know anything about TK6. I do know that most 64 bit Widows has very unreliable support for 32 bit applications.
I suggest you revisit the compatibility settings and try [Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000]. Also try assigning the program to run as an administrator. Sometimes DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is a hangup
If it worked for 12 hours, then there is hope that you can find a workable solution.

I"ve tried all of the compatibility settings and all the othe boxes with fewer colors, etc. Nothing will permit the program to print. Going through Paint is a possability but it is a hassel. Thanks for trying.

The best screen capture program I have seen is with SNAGIT. I especially like the scrolling windows capture feature. They have a free trial at : http://www.techsmith.com...nN3cmt-J0CFShSagodBVwqpw Glenn Sharp glennmsharp@yahoo.com

One other suggesion. This is more complex than previous suggestions.
Choose either Virtual PC 2007 or VirtualBox, then install it, then install Windows XP in the virtual OS, then try TK6 in that virtual session.

There was no support for 64 bit computers not printing in TK6. I was debating on buying an old 32 bit computer just to print in TK6 or updating to Windows 7 for my new 64 bit computer. I did what Jeff recommended and now I can print using the file menu. The print icon has disappeared and I have the ghosting of heading buttons yet I can print!
