I'm having a problem with Stock Central.  Within the last couple of month's, I've had this problem intermittently and I'm not sure what to do.  When I choose a topic, or sometimes when I try to log in, I get the page is loading icon spinning on the IE tab, but nothing happens. I've waited it out as long as 20 minutes.  I thought that maybe there was a problem with the server traffic and the server was just overloaded.  I don't think that's the issue anymore. I did notice one consistent message on the IE footer everytime it locks up.  I get a message that says, "Waiting for http://pagead2.googlesyndication.come/pagead/ads?client= ..."  So this tells me the system is locking up on the google ads.

My session comes to a complete halt and I can't read anything.  The only way I've found to resolve the issue is to close out of  IE and open a new IE window.  When I navigate to Stock Central again, the system still finds me logged in (cookie must still be active).  I don't have this problem with any of the other BB's I read, just Stock Central.

The only reason I can think this is happening is that I'm still on a complimentary membership and I will need to renew my membership next month.  I'm running Windows XP on my system and IE 7.0.5730.11.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Jeanie,

The problem seems to be an issue with the Google ad server. When this happens again, just click "refresh" on your browser after 30 sec or so. DON'T wait 20 minutes! I think that this should clear the problem.

Joe,

Thanks for the reply. Most of the time the refresh button is unresponsive. I also try clicking on the stop button and it does nothing. However, I can utilize another tab and actively view other websites without any issues downloading data.

After I wrote my message I thought of one change I made since it started happening. During the summer, I signed up for a google account. I know that google tries to feature ads specific to the user. What are the chances that now that I'm a registered Google user, the ad customization feature is breaking? Is anyone else having these issues?

Hi Jeanie,

I have noted the same behavior while loading the google 'pagead2' on a few occassions as well.  (For others: this will only appear if in your browser you have "View">"Status Bar" checked.)

Please post here any/every time you notice this happening again.  Same goes for anyone else please who reads this thread, and if don't have the "View>Status Bar" checked in your browser you can just post here if you note a page will not load/takes an unusually long time.

We will monitor this discussion and take further action if the problem persists.  Thanks!

Dave
