VILLAINY VANQUISHED! YOUR GAZETTE RETURNS!
You must have been asking yourselves, dear readers, "what has happened to our beloved StockCentral Gazette? And what of the intrepid Gazette Reporter? Oh, woe is us!"
Fear not, friends, as this reporter has returned after a harrowing fortnight's delay. Bamboozled by highwaymen? Press-ganged into a privateer's sloop? Imprisoned by cannibal pygmies? Yes, it is all true, only moreso. But this reporter prides himself on eschewing details. On to this week's headlines...

BLACK TUESDAY FALLOUT
GENIUS GERLACH HELPS YOU PICK UP THE PIECES
This reporter doesn't know much, but he's smart enough to realize that any day the Dow drops over 400 points probably isn't a red-letter day for the StockCentral Community. Thank goodness we have a genius in our midst.
ICLUBcentral President Douglas Gerlach has long since proven to the investing world that he's more than just a rakish grin and a distinguished hairline. There's substance behind all that style. The man knows investing -- backwards and forwards, upwards and downwards, and probably even leftways to sideways. If anyone can build a successful portfolio in times like these (after Tuesday's market "correction," this reporter has been reduced to panhandling and writing -- gasp -- commercial jingles to pay the rent), it is he.
Luckily for us, Master Gerlach doesn't mind handing out a few pointers. He's currently leading a workshop in The Classroom specifically designed to help you "Build a Better Portfolio in 10 Days." Learn how to sharpen your analysis skills, assess risk, and find the right mix of diversity and value.
Visit The Classroom to catch up with the first five days of Doug's workshop, and be sure to post your own questions and commentary throughout the rest of the week.

PLAN YOUR GETAWAY FOR INVESTED 2007
What could be better than a weekend in Southern California, surrounded by your fellow StockCentral members and other individual investors from around the country? (This reporter can't think of anything, but then, he's not very creative.)
Yes, InvestEd 2007 is sure to be the hot destination for the online investing community. Hosted at the glamourous Costa Mesa Hilton and developed by the same volunteer corps of nationally-known instructors and savvy computer
folks that have produced computer investing festivals for
the past 16 years, you simply cannot afford to be otherwise engaged:
- Attend over 60 Educational Workshops, led by investing experts and StockCentral personalities
- Interact with the developers of your favourite investing software titles in the hands-on Computer Lab
- Enjoy financial presentations and prospectuses from Corporate Speakers
Your intrepid reporter will be on hand as well (incognito, as per usual), along with many of your favourite StockCentral members. In fact, as a StockCentral member you receive an exclusive $10 discount at sign-up. Online registration is now available, so clear your calendar from August 17 to 19 and reserve your spot today.
