StockCentral has been enhanced today with a collection of additional features for researching stocks for an investor's portfolios.

A major upgrade has been made to the StockCentral Company Reports. These now include a wealth of additional analysis and research tools, including industry comparisons; graphs of dividends, cash flows, P/E ratios, return ratios, and other graphs; historical return calculator; news links; and historical data. You can download and save a printed multi-page report of all of the output for any North American company.

The new REIT Center provides research on Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), including industry averages, comprehensive profiles, and a dedicated REIT screener. All of the data in the REIT Center utilizes Funds from Operations (FFO) in place of Net Income/Earnings per Share, which is the preferred metric for analyzing REIT profitability. The REIT Center includes a description of the basics of REIT analysis and definitions of the way that FFO is calculated. You can also download an *.ITK file for importing into SSG Plus that replaces EPS with FFO/s throughout. REITs are a terrific way to add exposure to real estate in a portfolio, and also typically offer higher yields than many common stocks due to their tax-advantaged nature.

Finally, additional criteria has been added to the Stock Screener to facilitate searching for stocks, including by Sector, Market Cap, and Currency (US or Canadian). The Currency criteria is a shortcut to only display or to not display Canadian companies in results.
