In www.myiclub the Portfolio Defense Report the % EPS ACE Estimate Growth and the % EPS Est. Growth are listed in the Pre-Tax profit column. That is confusing. Why can it not be listed in ESP Column?

The ACE Estimates in www.myiclub are also misplaced. The Sales Growth Est. are in the EPS column and ESP Est. are in the Sales Growth column in accordance with the SSGPLUS front page.

Hello!

We have done some work on the report, and you should see the ACE estimates in the correct columns, now.

Regarding the placement of the EPS Growth columns, I checked with our company president, who sent the following:
This is in part because there is no Pre-tax profit projection on the SSG. In the report, the PTP actuals are compared to the EPS projections. If there are no changes in shares outstanding or the tax rate, then the growth of PTP and EPS will be the same.

I hope this helps explain the layout of the report.

Thank you,

Thanks for correcting this. However if you shifted the two EPS Growth columns to the right and the two Pretax column to the left they would still be in the Pretax heading but closer to the EPS column so it would not be as confusing.

Glad to help!

I've also forwarded your idea about swapping the columns, as a feature request for our development folks.

Just a quick update. I received a reply, about the request to shift the columns in the report:

We're unlikely to change the report, because the order follows the income statement order: Revenues, Pre-Tax Profit, EPS. The placement of the EPS growth rate estimate is by design, to facilitate the following order of operations:
  1. Compare the estimated EPS growth rate to the actual PTP growth and then
  2. Compare the estimated EPS growth rate to the actual EPS growth rate.

This is the arrangement of the report as it has been in Toolkit 5 and 6 for more than 20 years, and the way it’s been included in myICLUB for 10 years, and since it follows the above logic, the formatting is pretty much set in stone.
