Hello, StockCentral Subscribers!

After several months of quiet "private" beta testing and a lot of behind-the-scenes work, we've hung out the "Open for Business" sign, put out the welcome mat, and we're about to turn on the searchlights.

That's right:  StockCentral is now OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

What does this mean?

Well ... we've got our first set of features completed, and we're ready to call this phase of development our public beta test.  We're going to emulate Google to a large extent and keep calling this public beta for a while, as we develop more features and work hard to get everything right!

Our features:
  • Our community forums
  • Our data service
  • Our partners
  • Offers from our partners and from ICLUBcentral
StockCentral is intended to be an online community for like-minded investors.  With that in mind, we've enlisted two like-minded organizations -- Manifest Investing and stockfundas -- to join us here.  Each organization is hosting a forum in our community, is making a special offer available to StockCentral subscribers, and will participate in the community building and educations discussions that we will host here.

Our data:

Many of you have patiently been looking over the development of StockCentral's data service.  We've made that service easier to use, and we are on the way to delivering quality data in a convenient format.

To review, StockCentral's data service
  • Is built on a data feed from Hemscott Americas;
  • Contains fundamental stock data suitable for use with all of ICLUBcentral's software products;
  • Will be updated weekly (over the weekend); and
  • Is available in the form of SSG data files.

StockCentral's data is available two ways:
  • SSG files that you download directly from our data page.  Just enter a ticker symbol and click the button to download the file.
  • Owners of Investor's Toolkit 5 can configure the program to download data automatically and to update existing data.  If you click here you can view a short video clip that shows you how to configure your copy of Investor's Toolkit 5 to use the StockCentral data.
Remember that StockCentral's data is still a beta product!
  • This means that you should take take extra care to examine the data before you use it as the basis for any buy/sell/hold decisions that you may make.
  • We also need your help and assistance to make sure that the data is correct.  Please report any errors, inconsistencies, etc. or ask any questions that you may have about the data in The Infirmary.
  • You should also check the faq, our list of frequently asked questions.  The questions and answers will be updated often to deal with data issues.

What's Coming?

We have a lot of plans for the development of StockCentral.  Be sure to spread the word to your friends, family, club members ... or even total strangers!  StockCentral is community of investors and needs an active membership base to flourish.  If you find our offerings useful, please participate.

To kick things off, Ellis Traub and Mark Robertson will be leading discussion here over the next couple of weeks.  Watch for the announcements.  We will continue to have discussions and workshops led by some of your favorite teachers, educators and pundits.

In the meantime, help us build our community:
  • Use our ticker-based forums to discuss stocks.
  • Upload your SSG and ITK files -- soon we will be using your studies to generate consensus results.
  • Use our general forums for discussion and education.
  • Hang out at The Village Green to meet old and new friends.

On behalf of the entire StockCentral and ICLUBcentral team, I again welcome you to StockCentral.  Don't hesitate to use The Suggestion Box to let us know what we can do to improve StockCentral!

Joe
