I have a copy of toolkit 6 on my windows 7 desktop and on a windows 7 laptop. Is there a way using dropbox or some other method where by one tk file would be used by both and the be the current data?

Yes, you certainly can. I recommend Copy by Barracuda Networks for this. It's free for up to 15 GB of storage. Instructions for setting up Toolkit 6 to use a cloud-synced database are in the attached PDF handout.

I do NOT recommend Dropbox for privacy and security reasons. Copy is a much better solution, and the price is right for individual use.
