I'm going to be flying out to Chicago next week for BINC, which means there will probably be a fair number of people signing in to our various sites using one or more mobile devices. While this usually goes smoothly, mobile browsers don't necessarily have all the same settings in all the same places as their desktop counterparts. For our sites, the two most important things are to make sure that your mobile browser is set to accept cookies, and that it has javascript turned on.

Checking for Cookies and Javascript on iOS devices:

• From the list of installed apps, find and open up Settings; it will usually be have a picture of a gear, or set of gears.
• In the settings, click the Safari icon, and then take a look for the following two things:
• Cookie Settings: Our sites use cookie files, so this would need to be set to either 'From visited', or 'Always'
• JavaScript: Our sites also make use of JavaScript, so this should be set to On.

We have seen cases where the Safari browser seems to hold on to cached pages, so if you were having trouble signing in, make sure to close all open Safari windows, and then try signing in again.

Checking for Cookies and Javascript on Android devices:

• With Chrome open, click the menu button.
  • Depending on your version of Android, this will either be a set of three vertical dots at the top right-hand corner of the browser window, or a set of three horizontal bars at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.
• Select Settings from this menu.
• On the settings page, select Content Settings.
• On this page, make sure that Accept Cookies, and Enable Javascript are both selected.
• Tap the small left-facing arrow at the top left of the window to return to the regular browser.
