The Dollars, Taxes Issue 19 November 2013

Preorder 2013 Tax Printer Software with Early Bird Pricing
Keep the Tent and Chair in the Basement

The holiday season is approaching, and with it comes the time for taking out the folding chairs you just put into storage to wait in line for Black Friday door busters. Fortunately, StockCentral doesn't have a limited supply of discounts, only a limited time to take advantage of them.

Through Dec. 31, investment clubs have a chance to get a jump on tax season with special discounts on early bird orders of 2013 federal and state Tax Printer software. And StockCentral members receive the lowest preorder price: $59.99, compared with $89.99 for nonsubscribers who preorder.

Tax Printer forms for myICLUB.com will be accessible when they're ready under the Taxes tab on your myICLUB.com website. Click here to preorder Tax Printers at my ICLUBcentral.com.

Club Accounting 3.2 Tax Printers can be purchased as either a download or as a pressed CD. Click here to pre-order for Club Accounting 3.2.

Further Discussion: When a Club Member Withdraws
Transferring Stock Is Forum Fodder

Don M., treasurer for the We-Vest Investment Club, recently visited our StockCentral Community Forum to ask what processes and considerations come into play when an investment club member with a reasonable amount of holdings decides to withdraw from the club. Investment club expert Jim Thomas provided a detailed answer about the various steps and options available for paying out stock.

The We-Vest Investment Club then explored another interesting question related to how market changes could affect the departing club member's stock value. What happens if hours after transferring the stock to the exiting member, the bottom falls out of the market?

Indeed, market ups and downs could affect stock value for an exiting member, because the withdrawing member is guaranteed a certain number of shares, not a specific dollar value, Jim Thomas explains in his follow-up reply. Click here to read more about the options and considerations for handling stock payouts when members move on.

"Economists and investors have spilled a lot of ink describing bubbles, yet central bankers and investors never seem to learn and people get caught up in them."
