I am writing some tools to read SSG files and have used Doug Gerlach’s stock reader to get most of the fields, but wanted to know if anyone knew of any documentation related to the SSG format. I know there are 500+ fields and currently I am focused on finding the insider and institution ownership values within the SSG file. If anyone can point me to any documentation on the SSG file format, it would be greatly appreciated

Sorry, but the SSG file format is not supported for this purpose. The license agreement that Morningstar requires all users to consent to before accessing the data on the StockCentral website does not allow for any use in non-approved applications. Bulk download of raw company data is also expressly prohibited, and direct downloads of the data into any tool other than those provided by ICLUBcentral or BetterInvesting will not be available for very much longer.
