As opposed to the usual posts about a single issue from our internal Knowledge Base, I wanted to take this posting to point out our new FAQ page at http://www.iclub.com/faq

We're starting small; right now the notes there are almost entirely centered on closing the books for the year, and producing the tax forms. We've never had this much of what we use on a day to day basis available to the public like this, so it's sort of exciting.

This faq page has a built in search feature; unlike the search on the main iclub.com web site, this will search only through the faqs.

It can also be tuned in some interesting ways, to respond more strongly to certain words or phrases.

I don't want to bias things too much, but I would really appreciate if everyone who's reading this could go out to the new faq page, and try a search for something tax, or end-of-year related either that you've run into in the past, or that you think would be a common club question.

When you do, please then come back here; let me know what you searched for (a word, phrase, etc.) and if you were able to find it easily or not. The more feedback we get, the more we can add in specific words and phrases into the back end of the system to help make things better.

I've done a few updates today; if you do a search on the www.iclub.com/faq page for 'merger', 'spinoff', or 'split', the site should bring up six notes covering how to enter those basic transactions in both the desktop and online accounting.

Each of those notes also has a link out to the list of transactions on our site at http://www.iclub.com/support/kb/default.asp?page=transactions

Eventually these will all get copied over to the FAQ site, but the focus for the moment is on the tax printers.

I'll also re-state part of my original post. I know how I search for things; what keywords I remember, etc. but that's not necessarily how anyone else does. The more I/we can hear back about what is being searched for, and if it's being found, the better.
