Fiscal year and Last year of data
|
Dear forum members, this is my first use of StockCentral SSG's.
If the fiscal year of a company ends at e.g. May 2012, what should be the last year of data. to be used in the SSG-file?
Is it 2012 or 2011 as StockCentral seems to use in it's SSG's.
Thanking you in advance,
with friendly greetings Kiam.

To refrase my question: Do you use as the last year of date > the year in which the fiscal year begins, e.g. 2011, > the year in which the fiscal year ends, e.g. 2012, > or is it dependent of the month the fiscal year ends.

Apparently I did not search with the correct terms, but now I found in an old reply to a simmilar questen the answer. 05/21/2009 7:06 PM If the fiscal year ended on 3/31/08, that will be identified as the 2007 FY because "most" of the year was during 2007. Joe Craig With friendly greetings.

In the data service, if the company's fiscal year ends on or before 5/31, it is labeled with the prior calendar year. So a company fiscal year that ends on 1/31/2012 or 3/31/2012 or 5/31/2012 would see that year labeled 2011. This may be different than what the company calls their fiscal year period. Doug
