In the last week I've start my quarterly update of my portfolio. Whe nmanually up dating the data [inputtnig quarterly data obtained from SEC filings] on 2 of the first 4 stocks, when closing the file I received the following error message: "an error occurred while attempting to save company. Application defined or object defined error. No data saved." The only way to close the file is to not save the up date. What's going on???????

Since it doesn't happen all the time, this sounds like a case of bad data, such as a space or other non-numeric character in a field, or a zero value in a field where TK is expecting a on-zero value. Is there anything unusual about the companies that you're updating? If you want to file a ticket with our support team, we can take a look at the companies and your data to see what's causing the error.

I had a reoccurance of this problem, but determined the cause of the problem. In the input screen for future earnings, below the fields for the future years EPS, there is an input field for data source. Too many input charcters in that field causes the eror message as shown in the attachment. When I reduced the character count the error message went away. I like to put the source of the data and the date of the data and then sometimes add a note about EPS direction, number of analyst reporting, etc. I'd like to see more character count provided here or some sort of alert that the count has been exceeded or a mechanism that simply stops entries once the character limit is reached.
