“SPECTACULAR STOCK STUDY TOOLS” EDITION 22 JULY 2010

"TAKE STOCK" OF YOUR PORTFOLIO
Third Edition Hot Off the Presses!

Your always in-the-know reporter was on the scene when the truck carrying none other than the newly-revised, third edition of Take Stock arrived at ICLUBcentral HQ last week. Your reporter couldn't wait to get a copy into her hot little hands. What about you?

If you are brand-new to the stock market, do you need Take Stock? What if you are a seasoned investor? Does Take Stock have anything to offer you?

The answer to both questions is . . . (drumroll, please) a definite yes!

If you're a beginner, you'll find that Take Stock starts with the basics — everything from learning financial terminology to basic price evaluation. You'll learn how to make your own growth and value projections, and how to screen for stocks that are right for your portfolio.

If you're a more experienced investor, you'll learn how to evaluate company quality and focus on the most important elements of company management. Take Stock even explains in simple no-nonsense language the proper way to manage and diversify your portfolio.

And, the newly-revised edition is the perfect companion to the Take Stock tool on StockCentral.com. Order your copy today, or see how to save 40% if five or more members of your club all want their own copy!

On to this week's headlines . . .

INFLATION, P/E RATIOS AND THE RECOVERY
DISCUSSION HEATS UP ON THE EXCHANGE

If this summer hasn't been hot enough for you, check out the SC Forum, The Exchange. It's on fire!

In the most recent discussions, members are debating their judgment calls on the Stock Selection Guide, as well as the effects of inflation and deflation on a company's P/E ratio. They're also questioning whether the economic recovery is real . . . or little more than a mirage.

"Personally, I have been skeptical of the recovery," posts Nick A. DiVirgilio. "From the articles I have read in The Wall Street Journal, there just seems to be too many areas of the economy that are having problems (Mortgages, Biz loans, pensions, jobs, state budgets, etc.)

"I have been wary of predicting any kind of recovery in my SSGs. I have always chosen the lowest P/E multiples (or close to the lowest) from not only the past five years, but, over the past 10 years. I have also used the recent market low prices (either September 2008 or March 2009) for my low price on my SSGs.

"I know the effect that inflation has on P/E ratios. What effect does deflation have of P/Es? Does deflation deflate P/E ratios as well?"

What's your take on the state of the economy, inflation/deflation, and SSG judgment calls? To see what thoughts Nick's cohorts have on these topics and to throw in a few of your own nuggets, log on to The Exchange!

ANSWERING THE CALL
Four New Companies Added to the SC Forum

We made the call — and you answered! Since the last issue of the Gazette, we've added four new companies to the SC Forum:

  • St. Jude Medical, Inc. (STJ)
  • Kohl's Corporation (KSS)
  • Atheros Communications, Inc. (ATHR)
  • Jos A. Bank Clothiers (JOSB)

As StockCentral continues to grow and evolve, we invite our members to keep on sharing your thoughts and shaping the future of StockCentral.com. Tell us which companies you'd like to see represented on the forum. Keep in mind that there are two ways to add new stocks:

  • Simply post a request letting us know that you'd like us to add a forum for a certain company.
  • Upload a Toolkit study directly to the Miscellaneous Forum and let us take it from there. Once we see that a new stock study has been posted, we will go to work behind the scenes to create a new forum.

Let's get the discussion rolling on the latest additions! See you on the Forum!
