I had about five different ideas for what to write today, but this one jumped to the top of the list when I had to use it recently twice in one day. It's about changing the name of your club in Club Accounting 3 or Club Accounting Online at myICLUB.com. The way I'm writing these steps is assuming that you've been using Club Accounting for a while already with a name that isn't quite correct for one reason or another. If that's not the case, especially with the desktop program, you should probably give a call to support to double-check the exact circumstances. Barring that, here are the steps you can use to make that adjustment to the nameof your club in Club Accounting.
In myICLUB.com, the club name can be changed with just a few steps:
1. When signed in to the club, click the Preferences link near the top of the page.
2. On the Preferences page, click Rename Club
3. If you have more than one club, make sure to choose the correct one from the drop-down list; otherwise, just click the Rename Club button
4. On the Rename Club page, you will see " Please enter new name for : "; click the text box next to this, and type in your club name.
5. Click the Rename button to change the club name.
Note that if you have used the online tax printer, the 1065 and K-1 forms will still have the old club name unless you Regenerate them.
In the Desktop Club Accounting, the process to change the name is a bit more involved:
1. In the program, go to File > Export to create a backup. The program will give the option of where to save the file; we suggest the desktop.
2. When the program says it has finished the export, go to Tools > Switch Clubs.
3. Click the ' New Club ' button; enter the club name you want to use, and click OK.
4. If you do not have it available anywhere else, make sure to copy down the serial number currently in the program.
5. Select the current club, and click delete. When the program asks, confirm that you would like to delete the current club.
6. Next, go to Help > Register to re-register the software.
7. Go to File > Import; Follow the steps on the import page to find and import the backup file made in step 3, which completes the process.
