I am not able to update the price in Toolkit 6 for BRK.B. Why is this?

Try BRKB as the ticker.

Unfortunately, BRKB doesn't work either. BRK.B is the correct symbol. Who has to do what to get this fixed?

I appreciate your help.

Lynne

I have never been able to get Berkshire Hathaway to work using any combination, so I manually update the price.

The pricing service and the data service use different ticker symbol syntax for multiple share class securities. In Berkshire Hathaway's case, the data ticker to use with StockCentral is BRKB and the price ticker is BRK-B. There is no common ticker symbol format for these types of securities, so data providers can use either of these, and some will even use BRK.B. In Toolkit, you'll have to switch back and forth between them when you want to update prices and data.

Hmmm. Both BRKB, BRK-B and BRK.B work for retrieving and updating data. Only BRK-B seems to work for price updating.

So ... go to the Data tab and change the ticker to BRK-B. You should then be able to update prices and company data.

I seem to be able to update both using BRK-B.  Can you check?

Thanks to all for the help. Using BRK-B seems to do the trick. Berkshire Hathaway has never before had a stop split until this week and it was a 50 for 1! I would love to see a webinar on this stock.

Lynne
