The Visual Analysis graph for PTP on the front page of the SSG for Novo Nordisk (NVO) shows a decline the 1st quarter of 2014 from 12/31/13. However, the Quarterly Trend Analysis shows PTP has been rising. Am I not understanding something? I am using Toolkit 6. Thanks. Carla

Looks like an anomaly in the data. The sum of the quarterly PTP from 2013 is ~$5898M, while the calculated PTP from the annual data for 2013 ($4482.5 M and 30.8% tax rate) is $6473.6M. My sense is that the 2013 fiscal year PTP is inflated for some reason -- the TTM for 1Q2014 is right on trend.
Sometimes the quarterly results don't always add up to the fiscal year results, perhaps because of currency conversion or one-time charges or tax adjustments. I don't follow NVO so I don't know what might be involved.
I'll report it to the data managers to see what might be up.
