Received a notice that the TK 6.4.3 update was available. Attempted to update. Message received saying: "need to run in Administrative Mode. Went to start menu and clicked on Tookkit 6, as instructed. Download of patch started and screen box said 255 of 255 downloaded, but download continued to run for over ten minutes [I running on a high speed cable internet connection]. Finally clicked on cancel and tried again by going back to the start menu and restarting the program as before, but now get a message: "unable to launch TK6. Please launch TK6 Server.exe manually." I have no idea what this means. Bottom line - the update will not function. By clicking on the desk top icon, I can still run TK6, but in the prior version - 6.4.2. I am running on a 64 bit processor.

Note that when I open from the start menu and then "all programs" - the list under TK6 only lists: TK6 manual; TK6 and uninstall TK6. It does NOT include "TK6 non-Administrater" as shown on the help link.

Did you have this trouble when you updated to version 6.4.2? Do you have a firewall or Internet security program running on your computer?

The error message can be resolved by rebooting or shutting down the TK process in Task Manager.

Doug,

I re-booted and then turned off Norton Suite and then went to the start menu, all programs and clicked on TK6, but received the same message: "Unable to launch..." [see prior message for full quote]. Then went to the desk top icon and get a new message: "unexpected error, quitting". So now I am unable to launch TK6 in both the old and new version. HELP!

Could this problem be 64 bit related? Why am I NOT seeing four options under TK6 when I open TK6 from "all programs" - i.e. missing TK6 non-administrator option?

PROBLEM SOLVED. Did a search of my primary drive. Found a file entitled TK6 update.exe. Opened that file and then TK6 6.4.3 opened and is now operative.
