It has been noted that on the front of the SSG that alot of quarterly data still says 09/2008. Being as you can go to a company's website and get the date for 12/2008 can you pls tell me why it takes so long to be posted on the SSG or is there a hang up somewhere else.

Morningstar provides the data to us, but they don't simply copy and paste from a company's web site, press release, or SEC filing. They review all the financial data reported by the company and then normalize the EPS to reflect results from ongoing operations. Since companies have 90 days to file their 10-K filing with the SEC at the end of their fiscal year, some companies have just filed for the 2008 calendar year today. On the other hand, companies can issue a press release at any point. As a result, there will always be a delay, though Morningstar is working on expediting the data reporting and that should be reflected in the StockCentral data feed later this year. For more on understanding data, you should visit our webinar on Understanding and Using Fundamental Stock Data on March 31 at 9 pm ET: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/751036499 It's free. Also, the FAQ on the site has more: http://www.stockcentral....guage/en-US/Default.aspx Doug
