Hi folks,

I ran a screen looking for stocks that met "desireable" quality.  It usually gives me about 50 stoc ks. I had one stock that continued to meet all my other quality criteria, but it dropped off the "desireable" list.  Can you tell me what constitutes "desireable" in this sreener?  What about that metric would make a stock stay or go from the list?

Thank you,

Lynn O.

Do you mean quality or mood? There isn't an option to screen by the Mood Indicator any more -- you can use HVR, however, which is essentially the same thing.

The Mood Indicator is based upon either the HVR (Historical Value Ratio) or RV (Relative Value). It's called the Mood Indicator because its significance is correlated to the values of those metrics because, when either is above 110% or so, we consider the stock a "hot" stock. The mood of the public is very much in favor of it; and it's selling significantly above the signature PE.

Of coures, a more critical condition is when the HVR or RV are below the mid 80%s. Then the investing public's interest has "cooled" and they are selling. In this case, we need to find out why before we buy.
