Dave, the relationship is that of a separated couple whose divorce is not final ;-)

Goodness me Gene, That's a deliciously provocative statement. I'm obviously pretty new to StockCentral - BI - NAIC - IClub goings-on so feel free to impart whatever detail you think is appropriate to bring me up to speed and look a little less naive. -Dave.

That's a deliciously provocative statement.
Not to be too hard on my good friend Gene ... and she really is a friend! ... but I think that the statement was a tad on the overly provocative side. It is true that the business relationship between BI and ICLUBcentral seems to have been strained during the last several years. But, I hope, and I have some reason to hope, that things will be better going forward.
That said, the philosophy, tools and websites developed by ICLUBcentral are quite compatible with the approaches taken by BetterInvesting. I think that it is fair to say that the tools available here and from ICLUBcentral (directly and also indirectly via BetterInvesting) are among the best tools available to put the BetterInvesting approach into practice.

Please don't misunderstand me....I thoroughly enjoyed Gene's quip and not because it hinted at some dischord - simply because it was a delightful, possibly impish, punctuation to my dilemma. It's not healthy (for me) to take things as seriously as I sometimes do and Gene's comment was a prompt and appropo reminder for me.
I appreciate your comments also Joe. The production of the software for use by BI is the distinction that I was missing. I previously thought that StockCentral had a product which they marketed but which they also made available through BI via some "Additional Reseller" agreement. Hence I was at a loss to understand why I would be redirected to the "reseller" site.
I'm sure the software stands on it's own - I would not be contemplating it's purchase if I had not already satisfied myself of that by using the Demo. For it's distribution to be adversely affected by those doing the selling is, perhaps, an unfortunate affront to those who developed it, but this is obviously a separate issue which has no business here.
If BI is the conduit through which I must obtain this product then so be it. I shall simply pospone the purchase until my need for for the tool exceeds my displeasure with the store owner.
Thank you both. -Dave.

And, you've really understood Gene's character. She's thoroughly delightful and has a wicked sense of humor. And she's kind, too. She never said a single thing about the bad paella we ate together in Barcelona last year!

And, it's not really clear on the web sites, either!

Cheers to you, too, Dave!
(Oh, rumor has it that Gene may be in attendance at InvestEd this summer ... hint, hint!) |

Joe, thanks for the gentle slap on the wrist. It was a bit out of line, if not entirely out of character, for me. And,
many separated couples do kiss and make up, so let's hope ;-)

Hmmm, Investment education and a chance to travel.....how would it be.
I appreciate the teaser Joe, but I am already scheduled to be visiting England in June for a couple of weeks, and the Caribbean (via the Florida Cruise Terminal of course) in late August. Being a government employee, actually having the audacity to take 3 weeks in a single year is already raising eyebrows. Does the investment education ever make it's way over to Utah ?
-Dave.
(PS: The link to Invest Ed under your signature block didn't open the link this evening - may be a temp thing so I just thought I'd mention it.)

Well, Dave ... Our initial InvestEd event was in Orange County, CA last summer. We're in the east this year, but I expect that we'll be out west again soon. http://investor-education2008.org is our site!
