I have been unable to update prices into either Toolkit or TakeStock 4 since sometime prior to Friday afternoon.  Are others able to update prices?  I am able to update prices from Yahoo (where I think Toolkit obtains its prices) into a spreadsheet.

Dan,

I'm guessing that Yahoo modified their web site on Friday afternoon, and this is what broke price updates for all of ICLUBcentral's analysis products. I'd also imagine that this will be repaired promptly tomorrow.

Would that include Portfolio Manager?
I'm trying to use some of their reports, and about 20% of my clubs stock prices
are wrong, though the others are right in line with Yahoo and the S&P download from BI.     Gene Rooks

Hi,

We should be all set, for now, the programs that ICLUBcentral develops use Yahoo finance price data. Yahoo changed something and now apparently changed it back. We are looking at updating our programs to not rely on this external service, but for now it should be working again. Thanks for the report and we'll keep you posted if and when a programmatic change is deemed necessary and made!

When I update my data and prices, I am unclear as to whether I am doing this through OPS or Stock Central. I am currently subscribed to both. How would I know? Where is this setting in Toolkit 5?

Thanks,
Gail Goldstein

Click Options on Toolkit's menu.
Click Preferences on the dropdown list.
Click File Locations in the window that appears.

Look in the box labeled Dafault Data Subscription. If it says "ICLUB Data File Subscription" then you are using the StockCentral data service. If it says "BetterInvesting S&P Datafeed" then that's what you are using.

To change, click Select Data Subscription and use the drop down list to select the service that you want to use. You will also need to change your username and password to match the data service. Note that the box labeled Email address should really read "Username." For the StockCentral data service, you enter the username and password that you use to login here. For the BI service, you use the username and password that you use to login to the BI website.

If you just want to know the source of a particular data file, open the SSG and look in the upper right-hand corned for "Data taken from".
