When I update Paychex (PAYX) the last full year displayed on the SSG is 2005, but with six quarters added after that.
I can understand up to four quarters displayed after the last full fiscal year, but six?
Paychex ends its fiscal year in May. So all the data for FY 2006 should be available. The latest quarter is Q2 of 2007.
The last full year of data on the annual data table is also 2005, but the numbers are the same as what Value Line and S&P have for 2006.
Does anyone have an explanation or a way to fix this?
Thanks.

Sure. The "2005" FY actually is the one that ended in May of 2006.
Because the bulk of the FY occurred in 2005, it's called the 2005 Fiscal Year. So, the 2005 year takes you to the end of May 2006. And we have two more quarters. The 3rd quarter of FY 2006 ended yesterday.

I think I understand what you're saying, but that doesn't seem to be what Toolkit is showing, unless my Toolkit is doing something different.
On Section 1 of the SSG it shows the last full FY as 2005, then four quarters of 2006, then two quarters of 2007. So, why doesn't is show those four quarters of 2006 as the last full FY?

You've definitely got a problem, Eric! Did this happen after updating a company, or is this something that happens when you just download the file?
Also, which version of Toolkit are you using? |

Joe,
I'm using Toolkit 5.1.3. I get the same thing weather I update or retrieve a new file. PAYX is the only company I've noticed this problem with.
Does yours display the graph properly?

It sounds like the year dates in Toolkit may have become offset by one for PAYX. Look under data in the basic, annual and quarterly tabs to make sure the dates are correct. I had a similar problem a few years ago and this was what I found to be the cause.

Eric,
Yes, you do have a problem. Could you ZIP up the SSG file that you downloaded and email it to me (jncraig@gmail.com). Please zip it to make sure that it doesn't get "adjusted" by email. Also if you could send some screen shots of the Data tab (company info, anuual and quarterly data) that would be great. Your other choice (and one that I suggest) is that you contact tech support.

Joe and Dan,
Dan is correct about the data in the annual and quarterly tables not matching up. I'm sure it was something I did.
Rather than try to correct that manually I tried deleting PAYX from Toolkit and then loading it up again. That fixed the problem.
Thanks guys.
