SC data states that PFE dividends  are .76 per share, S&P and Yahoo have it listed as 1.16. I know they increased the div over the past year but this is a 52% increase. I read about a 20 some percent increase last year after the sale of a part of their business. Was the .76 incorect or did not update? Thanks

I am not sure where you are seeing the 0.76 dividend but the SC data shows 1.16.  The prior dividend was 0.24 or 0.96 per year. On 12/18/06 this was raised to 0.29 or 1.16, a 20.8% increase.  It does seem PFE is trying to add some shareholder value after a long flat period.

Udated the data on 2/16/07, sec 3 box F, shows .76 for year ending. I just found it hard to believe any company would raise their dividend 52% over a one year period, I like it but can't believe it! Used SC data.

Okay now  I understand.  The 0.76 is for FY 2005. This is a rate of 0.19 per quarter or 0.76 for the year.  For FY 2006 that is not yet shown in Toolkit  the rate is 0.24 or 0.96 for the year.  For FY 2007 the rate will be 0.29 or 1.16 for the year.  Thus the dividend growth rates are for 2005 +11.7%, for 2006 +26.3% and for 2007 +20.8%. I think this makes it clear that PFE with their strong cash flow and cutting of expenses are showing they will be returning a larger portion of the companies FCF to shareholders.  I see this as a positive sign.

I think the confusion arises on PFE, as it will on every company using SC data, that since the 2006 10K report has not yet been filed the Stock Central data does not yet show 2006 annual results.  Thus without manual inputting Toolkit 5 shows 2005 as the latest full year.

Joe Craig is looking into this and hopefully something can be done to provide some preliminary data to help users in this area.

Look for the "Indicated Dividend" in the Data Report for the current dividend information.

I hope that I haven't suggested that we will be augmenting our data with "preliminary" values, though.

You have not indicated preliminary data would be provided by Stock Central, however, I think it would be quite useful especially at this time of year when many 10K reports come in seemingly late.  I do recognize the data provided in a companies press release is not final but I have found a minimal number of changes between that and the 10K's as far as the numbers go.  Many like to update their SSG's at this time of year and not having the 2006 data or having to input it manually can be frustrating.

Yes, and it will be another 5 weeks before the final numbers are available for annual data. Company released preliminary data would serve a great benefit.
